NPFL Action Resumes This Weekend, May 21 2017.

NPFL action resumes this weekend after the LMC organised a mid-season review highlighting their commitment to tackle fan violence and re-emphasising the new rule where clubs are expected to pay fines imposed within 10 working days. They did also commend the high quality of referees during match days. Unfortunately, they didn’t mention or address the issue of NPFL broadcast partners pulling out of their sponsorship commitment leaving a massive void in terms of programming and the ability of fans to see these games.

Note that the original plan was for the NPFL to end this current season on July 2, 2017 in a bid to align with the European leagues but the club managers have complained about having to play too many matches mid-week and weekends. Therefore, the season will now come to an end on September 3, 2017.

On the log table after 19 games, Plateau United FC are 1st/35pts, MFM FC are 2nd/33pts, El-Kanemi Warriors are 3rd/33pts and Niger Tornadoes are 4th/30pts while at the bottom of the table we have Shooting Stars 18th/22pts, Wikki Tourists 19th/21pts and Remo Stars 20th/19pts.

Nigeria’s Deaf Eagles Wins WADFU Tournament For The 3rd Time
