World Tennis Day is an annual celebration of Tennis around the globe and Lesh Tennis club  made sure that Nigeria was not left out of  the celebration as the club organised series of tennis event to commemorate the day at the Tennis court of the University of Lagos on Sunday  March 5th,2017.
It was a family event which saw the audience treated to thrilling games by tennis players who featured in a week long Lesh Tennis open,the children and adult played exhibition games as well as demonstration display by kids who are members of the Tennis club.
Basil Jacob beat Isaac Attah 3-6,6-1,12-10 tie break to win the first prize while the first runner up Attah and other semi-finalists also got some consolation prizes courtesy of the organisers and their partners.
There were other give aways for those who participated in the dancing competition and quiz which were other side attractions of the day.
Segun Leshi,head coach and instructor at the Lesh Tennis Academy the organisers of the event said the potpourri of events seen were to encourage participation in the game of tennis.
“As an organisation which promotes tennis,we put this together to encourage participation,teach novice the game and create opportunities for those who want to learn the game which what we do in our club and our academy which train children and nuture them for the future”.
The electrical engineering graduate of the University of Lagos also believes individual can contribute their quota to the growth of the game of tennis in the country.
“Individual of nation can grow a nation if they purpose to do it,so goes for tennis,if we want to grow the game,individual must do something to make a difference”.
Lesh tennis club  began seven years ago when a group of friends came together to channel their passion into the game they love.
