Westerlo Academy Lagos thrashed a Europe based All Stars side 5-1 in the 12th edition of the Winners Golden Bet AllStars Match on Wednesday.
The game which is the initiative of former Nigeria international, Joseph Dosu, was played at the football pitch of Lagos State Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre.
The All Stars paraded players like Super Eagles Ogenyi Onazi, Dele Alampasu,Victor Osimhen with other players who had played in the nationa team in the past like Nnamdi Oduamadi, Haruna Lukman, Raheem Lawal, Michael Babatunde and Kehinde Fatai.
Others who played for the All Stars were Sodiq Popoola, Ramon Azeez, Stephen Makinwa,Mayowa Giwa,Femi Ajilore,Ifeanyi Emeaghara amongst others.
Westerlo Academy opened the scoring in the first half after a blunder by Alampasu.
In the second half, Westerlo Academy went on to score four more goals to secure the win.
Super Eagles All Stars’ only goal was scored by former Flying Eagles forward to the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Akeem Agbetu.
In a Chat with Asenntv Dosu Joseph said the initiative is borne out of allowing the professional players to give back to the society.
“The purpose of bringing this boys back every year is for them to stay in touch with where most of them started from,it all started like an idea but now it has come to stay because the players look forward to it every year”
