The 2017 Nigeria Table Tennis Federation’s Women Singles final is between Cross River’s Cecilia Akpan and River State’s Fatimo Bello. The final is a reminder of the maiden edition’s final , where Cecilia Akpan devour Fatima Bello 4-1.
Fatimo Bello’s played against two of the best players in Nigeria in her route to the final which can not be described as smooth sail. She played against Bose Odunsanya on table eight for the quarterfinal, after overcoming the three times Asoju Oba Champion .
The biggest Obstacle came in the form of Esther Oribamise , in the semifinal, the sixteen years old won the first two sets and if she has won the game , that would be the biggest upset in the women’s singles final but Fatimo Bello did a remarkable comeback and won the game 4-3 .
The defeat broke Esther Oribamise into tears as she laid motionless in court eight.
By four’o clock today, The two best female players in Nigeria will be facing off to determine who is the Queen of table tennis in Nigeria .
