A brace from Arase Iyobor in the 28th mins and 60th mins  made Hansen Demonstration School, Benin, Edo state the champions of the 2017 NNPC SHELL Cup against their opponent from Holy Ghost college, Owerri, Imo State.
Although the two goals came from penalty kicks,it was deserved as defender Chikere Promised of Holy Ghost College fouled Hensen’s Ojelum Ernest in the eighteen yard box,Iyobor stepped up to take the kick which put the Edo boys into the lead and from then on they were on the ascendancy till the end of the first half.
As second half get underway the Edo boys kept piling pressure on their Imo counterparts,although there are some occasional chances that came the way of Holy ghost College but their top man Nzubechi Ogbuehi fluffed those opportunities, eventually the defence of Holy ghost College caved in as Chikere Promise became the culprit in the eighteen yard box again,this time around the referee showed him a red card and Iyobor who was voted as the Most Valuable Player of the Championship converted the second to put the game beyond their opponent for the day.
Meanwhile Government Secondary School, Lamisula, Maiduguri, Borno state won the third placed battle earlier in the day after defeating Sambo secondary School,Gusau, Zamfara state 5-3 via penalty shootout after regulation period had ended 1-1.
The boys from Maiduguri got 45,000 naira each for their effort while a Cheque of 500,000 was given to the school for the development,the fourth placed team Sambo Sec Schl got a cheque of 400,000 naira for the development of their school while each player got 35,000.
Hensen Demonstration School got a cheque of 2.5 million naira as Champions for the development of the school  and each of players were given 50,000 naira,while Holy Ghost got 1.5 million naira for the development of the school and the players got 45,000 naira.
Arase Iyobor and Ernest Ojelum who were picked by the representative of Feyenoord FC Academy,ex International Mike Obiku will be travelling to Holland for a 4 week summer camp at the academy.
One of the two with a better academic grade will also attend a gathering of talented young people at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
