JOY HEYBALL MASTERS TOUR 2 NIGERIA QUALIFIERS BEGINS IN LAGOS

As Adekunle Adebayo, the Nigerian representative in the ongoing 2024 Joy Heyball Pool Masters Div One and Super Tour, Tour 1 is getting ready to end his participation in China and set to return to Nigeria, the Tour 2 Nigeria Qualifiers organized by the Snooker and Pool Players Alliance started on  Friday, June 7, 2024 with the Lagos sub-qualifiers holding at NICON Town Recreation Center Lekki. The periodic event is organized to select the winner who will receive the Joy Billiards Sports Promotion/Fiji Ventures sponsorship to proceed to participate in the 5 Joy Heyball Master Tour that holds in China annually.

Despite the fact that the Joy Heyball Masters Div One and Super Tour, Tour 1 is ongoing, the Tour 2 Nigeria Qualifiers has commenced early to provide adequate time to enable the Snooker and Pool Players Alliance to determine the winner who would be travelling to China for the Tour 2 event.

The 2 1/2 days Lagos sub qualification event ends on the June 9, 2024 with the top two placed players in the race to 9 racks robin with a 90 minutes time control proceeding to play in the playoff scheduled to hold in the middle of July 2024 at Fourteen75 sports arena, Akure, Ondo state.

The Joy Heyball Masters Nigeria Tour 2 qualifier comprises the 3 separate sub regional event; Lagos, South-West and South-South.

Amongst the participating players seeking selection include: Bamidele Shehu, winner of the 2023 May qualifying events and current record holder with one Match Victory at the 2023 Joy Heyball Masters, Div One Tour 3 August event, and Babatunde Rasheed, 2nd runner up of the 2024 Joy Heyball Masters Grand Final Nigeria Qualifier who missed the event because of visa complications. Other participants are Nojeem Waliu, Igwe Orji and many more.

Mr. Segun David, Managing Director of Fourteen75 Sports Arena and Grill, and Mr. Victor Anthony Ukueku were amongst the distinguished personalities at the event.

Idada Joachim, president Snooker and Player Alliance said: “The continued participation of Nigeria players at the 5 annual Joy Heyball Masters Tour is necessary to expose them to international competition as part of experience building, self-discovery and re-orientation. The Joy Heyball Masters events offers huge financial rewards, career and empowerment opportunities, so we must expose our youth to it”.

The next event was the South West sub qualifier scheduled for 21st – 23rd June 2024 at Fouteen75, Sports Arena, Akure.
