Investigative Committee recommend $5000 compensation for Favour Ofili

The investigative committee on the negative exposure to Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympic and paralymic setup by the Honourable Minister of Sport on the 24th September submitted its 54 pages with the highlight summary signed by Mr Mumuni Alao.

The report indicted the secretary General of the AFN, Mrs Rita Mosidi for negligence in performing her duty and recommended that she be penalised by the appropriate authority.

Mr Samuel Onikeku was indicted for demonstrating poor judgement for not reporting or acting on credible information relating to the non-registration of his atlethe, Favour Ofili. it was recommended that the Board of the AFN penalize Mr Onikeku.

It recommended that Favour Ofili be compensated with $5000 for the disappointment and depression caused on account of her omission. Additionally, it recommendation included the following

  1. Mr Samuel Fadele and Mr Emmanuel Nwani be issued a warning for disregarding information.
  2. It recommended that Favour Ofili improve her general attitude with other co-athlete.
  3. The NOC and Ministry of Sports Development jointly develop a written Code of Governance to improve synergy of operation.
