Kyle Amoroto has lost many of his major sponsorship following the accusation of him been involved in match fixing.
77.billiards posted on their facebook page;
“Recently, pro player Kyle Amoroto was released from Team Marboys for allegedly being involved in game fixing and doing it while playing in the Marboys billiard club. During their live announcement, Team President JR Velasco disclosed the details of how Amoroto made money by knowingly losing money matches and in one instance begging another Marboys teammate to lose a game in a practice session.
A few minutes after this revelation, pro player Michael Feliciano did a live on his FB page commenting about this practice and saying his thoughts about what Amoroto did. He also feels sorry for the 21 yo pro knowing how this news will quickly be known in this social media age and can potentially ruin his career. He admitted that in the past he has done this but has stopped ever since he considered himself as a pro player.
Gambling in pool is a known practice and game fixing is unfortunately done by some players or handlers. The recent spotlight on this matter will definitely sting for a sport that has seen its popularity on the rise. Hopefully, this becomes a lesson for us all and some good will come out of it. We are also hoping that somehow Kyle Amoroto will be able to move on from this and redeem himself, after all, he still has the immense talent and youth on his side.”
Meanwhile has apologized for his action and is pleading that he be given a second chance. Amoroto wrote
“I am writing this with deep regret. I have recently been involved in a match-fixing scandal and I realize that my actions were wrong, not only violating my professional ethics but also hurting the trust and feelings of those who have always supported and accompanied me. I have not been able to sleep for the past few days. I have spent time reflecting and considering everything. The mistake I made makes me feel very guilty. My haste and greed have caused me to make a serious mistake
I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to all my fans and sponsors, especially Bos jr and bos marvin and all the Marboys members. I understand that all your trust has been seriously damaged and I am deeply saddened by that. I have realized my mistake and deeply regret my actions.
This is a lesson I have learned and I do not want to repeat it. I hope everyone will give me a chance to fix things. This is my passion, my lifetime action. I will try my best to fix my mistakes and regain everyone’s trust. I will train harder, dedicate myself to prove that I am not a completely wrong person, to become a person worthy of everyone’s support.
Once again, I apologize for what happened and hope everybody will give me a chance to fix things. I hope that, with time and effort, I can regain your trust and affection.”
